A widget won't load: error, permission or disconnected source

Updated 2026-07-07

In two lines: if a widget shows an error while the rest of the dashboard works, the problem is specific to that widget: almost always its data source. The widget itself tells you which of these three causes it is.

If instead everything is empty, it's not a widget: see I don't see data in my dashboard, monitor or report.

Integration not connected

The widget uses a platform that this account hasn't connected yet. Connect it from Settings > Integrations and the widget starts bringing in data. To know what you can connect, see Integrations: what you can connect and how they work.

Insufficient permission

The integration is connected, but the account on that platform doesn't have permission to read the data the widget requests (for example, access to that ad account). You need to review the permissions on the platform side with whoever gave you the access, and reconnect if necessary.

Expired connection or disconnected source

Every now and then, a platform ends the session for security and the source is left as Expired connection or Data source disconnected. It's solved by re-authorizing: use Reconnect data sources when the dashboard offers it. The flow detail is in Reauthorize an integration when it asks for permissions again.

If several widgets from the same platform fail at once, don't touch them one by one: it's that platform's connection. Reconnect it once and they all come back.
