Brand Voice: define your brand's voice

Updated 2026-08-22

In two lines: Brand Voice (in Social Media > Brand Voice) defines your brand's tone, personality and audience so the AI generates consistent content — the texts and the images. It's best to set it up before using Content Studio.

How do I set it up?

  • Go to Social Media > Brand Voice.
  • In Tone & Personality, pick your Communication tones, write the Tone notes (for example: "formal but warm, never solemn") and choose the Communication style.
  • In Vocabulary, load the Words and phrases to use and the Words and phrases to avoid, and set the Jargon level.
  • In Emoji & Format Rules, define the Emoji usage, the Hashtag rules and your Preferred post structure.
  • In Target Audience, describe the Audience persona — it's the field that pays off the most, because it also directs the images.
  • Optional: in Platform Adjustments, fine-tune tone and length per network.
  • Upload your brand manual, style guide or sample posts in Brand Documents, and hit Save.

How does the AI use it?

When you generate content from Content Studio, the AI takes your Brand Voice into account to adjust the tone, vocabulary and style. That way all posts keep the same identity, no matter who creates them.

And it no longer only writes: it also draws. When it builds a series plan, the AI uses your Audience persona, your Communication tones and your Tone notes to decide who's seen in the images, where the scene takes place and with what mood. That's why, if your images come out generic, the field worth filling in first is Audience persona, in Target Audience. The whole path is in Make the AI draw YOUR business: account material and scenes.

Without a configured Brand Voice, the AI generates with a generic tone and generic imagery. Complete it before using Content Studio.
The more concrete your audience persona, your tone notes and your vocabulary are, the more faithful the content comes out. "Homeowners aged 35-55 in gated communities" is worth more than ten loose adjectives.
If you've been publishing for a while, don't start from scratch: Auto-fill completes the form by reading your real posts and your documents. Then you review, adjust and save.
