In two lines: each dashboard has a Date Range selector that sets the period of all its widgets at once. You can choose a quick preset or a custom range, and compare against the previous period.
What presets do I have?
- Today / Yesterday — the current day or the previous one.
- Last 7 days / Last 30 days — the most used relative periods.
- This month / Last month — the current calendar month or the previous one.
- This year — from January 1 to today.
- Custom Range — any pair of dates you choose in the calendar.
How do I compare against another period?
Turn on Compare with previous period. Next to each number you'll see how much it changed compared to a reference period:
- Previous period — the immediately preceding stretch of the same length (if you look at "Last 30 days", it compares with the previous 30 days).
- Previous year — the same period of last year, ideal for businesses with seasonality.
KPI widgets show that change as a percentage, with a trend arrow and color depending on whether it improves or worsens.
Comparison is what turns a data point into a story. "We spent $4,200" says little; "we spent $4,200, 18% less than last month, with the same conversions" shows the work.
Can a widget have a different date?
Yes. A widget can use its own period, different from the dashboard's, through its Date Range Source. It's useful, for example, to place "current month" and "year-to-date" side by side. The widget marks with a badge that it's using its own range, so it doesn't cause confusion.
