Which of the 3 modes is mine?
The Add WhatsApp number modal shows you three options. Choose the one that describes your case:
- I handle it from the WhatsApp Business app on a phone → Coexistence. The number keeps working in the app and in MB Suite at the same time. You can bring over the contacts and the last 6 months of history, and the line activates on its own. It's the most common case.
- This number already sends through the WhatsApp API (with another provider or on your own) → you authorize with your Meta account and choose which numbers to enable. Connecting it in MB Suite doesn't disconnect it from the other platform.
- It's a brand-new number, never had WhatsApp → it's added to a WhatsApp Business account, verified by SMS or call, and left dedicated to the API (with no phone app).
I don't have a number for WhatsApp: can I buy one?
Yes. You can buy a dedicated line from CRM > Phones with Buy number: you choose the country, activate it with prepaid balance, and it's ready for calls and, if you enable it, WhatsApp.
I already connected the number. Now what?
Adding it in Data Sources leaves the number connected, but to use it in the CRM one more step is missing:
- Activate it in CRM > Settings > Lines: there each already-connected number appears and you enable it to chat from the CRM.
- If you want incoming messages to create prospects on their own, set that line as a lead source. How each source connects to the CRM: From prospect to close: how your CRM works.
Next step: before writing to someone outside the 24-hour window, get your WhatsApp templates: create, categories, and Meta approval ready.
Still have questions?
Ask MIA, the MB Suite AI assistant: open it with the MB AI button (⌘J) in the top bar. MIA knows the section you're in, so you can ask it about what you see on screen — and it can also answer how-to questions about using MB Suite.
