Keep your Google Ads campaigns healthy: broken links and recommendations

Updated 2026-07-13

In two lines: two tools look after your Google Ads account's health. Link Checker warns you if an ad sends to a broken link, and Recommendations brings in Google's optimization suggestions to improve your performance.

An ad that leads to a down page is money thrown away: you pay for the click and the visitor hits an error. Link Checker automatically reviews the links of your Google Ads ads, keywords, and sitelinks, and detects broken URLs, problematic redirects, and pages that fake existing (soft 404).

  • It scans on its own, weekly or monthly, and warns you by email if it finds broken links.
  • You can launch a review whenever you want with Run scan now.
  • Each scan shows you how many URLs it verified and how many errors it found, with the detail of each one.

Result: you find out about a broken link through an alert, not because a client flags it a week later.

What are Recommendations?

Google Ads calculates an Optimization score for your account and suggests actions to improve it (adjust budgets, add keywords, change bids, improve ads). Recommendations brings those suggestions into MB Suite, grouped by type, so you can review them without going into Google Ads.

On each recommendation you can use Apply to execute it, or Dismiss if you're not interested. For the full detail, View in Google Ads takes you to the source.

Apply executes the change directly in Google Ads and can't be undone. Read it carefully before applying it, especially the ones that raise budgets or bids.
Don't apply everything blindly. The score is a Google guide, not an order: some recommendations don't suit your strategy. Apply the ones that make sense for your objective.

What do I need to use both?

Both tools are exclusive to Google Ads and need that account connected from Settings > Integrations (Recommendations, additionally, a data source with the Customer ID). Without that connection, they have nothing to review.
