In two lines: you upload a CSV file with your base and map each column to the CRM field. You can import Prospects, People, Companies and Deals separately.
What do I need before importing?
A CSV file where each row is a record and each column a piece of data (name, email, phone, company, etc.). Tips that avoid reprocessing:
- One column per piece of data. Don't mix first and last name in the same cell if you want to separate them.
- Keep the email or phone in its own column: they are the key for not duplicating contacts.
- Start with a small test file to confirm the mapping before uploading thousands of rows.
How do I do the import?
- In the CRM, go into the list you want to populate: Prospects, People, Companies or Deals.
- Choose to import: the Import data wizard opens. In Upload file, load your CSV.
- In the Mapping, indicate which CRM field corresponds to each CSV column. Columns you don't map are ignored.
- Review the Preview step and confirm to import the rows.
The imported records are marked with Imported as their source, so you distinguish them from those that came in through your campaigns.
Importing data is reserved for CRM Managers or Admins. If you don't see the option, ask to be given that access.
Import Companies first, then People and lastly Deals: this way the deals can be linked to contacts and companies that already exist.
Next step: with your base loaded, organize it into your funnel with Build your sales funnel: pipelines, stages and quoting.
