Plans of several steps: approve many changes at once

Updated 2026-10-22

In two lines: when a request involves many changes, MIA builds a plan: one card with every step, the risky ones previewed in full, and a single button that says how many changes it will make. You approve once and the steps run in order while you keep working.

MIA builds a plan when the request takes more changes than it makes one by one, in both levels: in the list of steps you see it as “Creating… needs a plan”, and instead of piling up cards, MIA gathers them all in a plan. If it can't build it, the step says so —“Couldn't build the plan”— and MIA tells you why.

What does a plan show before I approve it?

  • The title and the count — “Plan · 17 steps” and the name MIA gave it, with the Waiting for your OK label.
  • The summary — the total of changes and the risky ones by name: “17 changes · including: delete 3 deals and invite 2 people”.
  • Every step, in order — grouped by module when there are several, and with In {Account} when a step happens in another Account.
  • The risky steps, previewed in full — each one with its label (such as Irreversible, Goes to the trash, Bulk, Leaves MB Suite or Sensitive) and the same detail as a confirmation card: what it touches, the warnings, what happens with what's deleted and, if it goes out of MB Suite, the channel, the recipients and the content.

How do I approve, adjust or cancel it?

  • Make 17 changes (Enter) approves it. That click is your explicit yes to every step, including the risky ones you just saw. If a step touches 100 items or more, or deletes something that can't come back from the trash, first type the number: “Type 120 to approve”.
  • Adjust puts the question “What should I change in the plan?” in the message box: tell MIA what to change and it rebuilds the plan.
  • Dismiss (Esc) discards it: nothing runs.
Even if MIA is set to Proposes for you, an approved plan does run: the approval is yours.
Setting up a new account with MIA also arrives as a plan, but by blocks: you turn off what you don't want and approve it with Set up my account. See Set up your account with MIA: ready to work in a few minutes.
A plan or a background job? A plan brings together changes that are already decided and runs them in order without going through the AI again. When the work needs MIA to read, think and decide for a long while —going through dozens of campaigns or several Accounts—, MIA proposes a background job instead, which can leave you a plan to approve along the way (see Background jobs: hand MIA the long work and get on with yours).

What happens after I approve it?

The card turns into live progress: “Making the changes…” and “12 of 17”. The steps run in order, one after the other, without the AI having to think them through again, and each one shows how it went: Pending, In progress, Done, Already done or Failed. The plan runs in MB Suite, not in your browser: you can keep working while it advances. When it ends, the card says Finished with the summary (“17 of 17 steps done.”) and Show steps to review them.

Two things protect you along the way. When a step is going to create something, MIA can check first whether it already exists: if it finds it, it reuses it instead of duplicating it, and the step shows Already done. And if, when its turn comes, a risky step would touch more items than you approved, that step doesn't run: “The number changed since you approved the plan, so this step didn't run.”

Can I stop a plan that's running?

Yes: Stop asks “Stop the plan?” and reminds you that “What's already done stays done. The remaining steps won't run.” Confirm with Stop the plan. What was done isn't undone by itself: if you need to revert something, ask MIA or do it from the screen; what was deleted, if the module keeps a copy, can be recovered from the trash within 30 days.

Why is my plan paused?

The card tells you why. If the account has a pending payment: “The plan is paused because the account has a pending payment. It only continues once it's settled.” If MB Suite paused what MIA had in progress, it continues when that's resumed. In both cases you don't have to do anything in the plan: it picks up where it was. If the pause lasts several days, the plan stops and tells you so.

If MIA built the plan after reading something written by other people —your records, a file you attached, settings anyone on your team can write or what comes from the web—, the card says so: “I built this plan after reading text written by third parties: review each step before approving it.” In that case the everyday steps also show their change field by field —read them before approving—, and whatever needs a confirmation doesn't go into the plan: it comes on its own card.
A plan doesn't wait for your approval forever: if too much time goes by, it says “The plan expired without your approval.” Ask MIA to build it again.
An approved plan acts in your name: what it sends, publishes or deletes is as if you did it from the screen. Messages that go out, data retention and the trash are governed by our Terms and Conditions.

Still have questions?

Ask MIA, the MB Suite AI assistant: open it with the MB AI button (⌘J) in the top bar. MIA knows the section you're in, so you can ask it about what you see on screen — and it can also answer how-to questions about using MB Suite.
